This is a 5' 7" section of the 1959 World Champion Baltimore Colts team bench from the 1959 NFL World Championship game. The Baltimore Colts defeated the New York Giants 31-16 at Baltimore's Memorial Stadium to win their second consecutive World Championship. It basically just looks like a dirty board but this is an unbelievable piece of history. This is a SUPER RARE item that you WILL NOT see ever again. After the game was over the Colt fans stormed the field and tore down the goal posts and ripped apart the team bench (taking home any souviener they could). This was the last sports championship ever won in the city of Baltimore. The bench is painted green which was the original color of the Colts uniform before they changed it to blue. As you can see in the picture the bench is square on one end and broken off at the other. The broken off area is where my grandfather broke it off by stomping on it!!! My grandfather sat on the 30 yard line during the game right behind the Colts bench. My grandfather told me Johnny Unitas sat on the very end of this bench (directly in front of him) when the Colts defense was on the field! The bench still has the original nails in it that attached it to the brackets that held it all together. The bench still has dirt and mud on it actually from the field at Memorial Stadium. This bench was owned by my grandparents (who have both been deceased for many years now) and their Colts collection was handed down to me. Nobody else has owned this bench. It's been stored away in a dry storage area now since the day it came off of the field at Memorial Stadium! I've been selling off my entire collection as some of you have seen. I've been a Colts memorabilia collector for many years as well specializing in SUPER RARE 1958 / 1959 Baltimore Colts Championship memorabilia. Recently, a one foot section of the goal post from the 1958 Championship game sold for over $10000.00.
